CO2 Operational and Maintenance Index

Propulsion Dynamics has developed the first CO2 Operational and Maintenance Index that takes hull condition into account along with speed and displacement.

The CO2 index is a part of the CASPER Service and can be used by owners internally to evaluate the individual ships. If it is found that a certain ship has developed a too high index value, precautions can be taken to reduce the value, either by enhancing hull and propeller husbandry, advanced hull coating systems or by a reduction of the service speed.

CO2 indexing (redefined as "EEOI", Energy Efficiency Operational Index).

Each ship is given accurate figures for the speed and fuel penalty due to hull and propeller fouling.

We show you what benefits are attainable by propeller polishing and hull cleaning in terms of reduced fuel consumption or higher service speeds
